Tata Steel was pleased to be back at the Alihankinta exhibition after the pandemic forced the cancellation of the traditional fair in 2020. 

The fair was a great success and took place from September 21st to 23rd at the Tampere Fair and Sports center. The organisers did a great job arranging a safe exhibition and we were pleased to be able to meet with many of our customers again and secure new contracts.  

At this year’s fair we focused on our innovative steel products such as corrosion resistant steel Magizinc®. Magizinc is a good example of how replacing “traditional” steel materials can open doors for innovation and development. We had many good conversations with our visitors which has led to us working closely together to help us understand how Magizinc can help their business grow. 
Valast®- an abrasion resistant steel grade also raised interest in many engineering workshops after it came out in the market a while ago. Valast is a hot rolled sheet grade that can be used in products that require better abrasion resistance. The Valast product family is expanding quickly with new grades being launched to the market to cover a wider demand.

Also on our stand this year was our Marketing Manager, Jaap Jan Aardenburg. Jaap Jan presented short steel market previews which were very well received. These presentations included the current state as well as what might be ahead of us in the future.  After a turbulent year in the steel market these presentations stirred interest in the audience including those operating outside the steel business.    

After a great exhibition this year we look forward to seeing you at Alihankinta 2022!
