Zeremis Carbon Lite declarations can be resold
If you do not wish to resell your declarations, you can claim Scope 3 emission reductions in sustainability and other reports that are published.
If you'd like to resell your declarations, please see the information below for guidance. In the case you are not currently calculating your own product footprint, please seek advice on how to do this from the team of LCA experts within Tata Steel Nederland.

How to process Carbon Lite declarations
You can put CO2 reductions in your own bank based on your starting point (how you currently evaluate your Scope 3 emissions).
Your own carbon bank must have third party oversight and assurance in terms of what is put into the bank and would be supplemented by purchases from other sources and your own internal efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
Any sales from your carbon bank would be done under your own brand, with your own issued declarations and subject to your own third party assurance process.
How to resell your Carbon Lite declarations
If you want to sell declarations on and you do not have your own carbon bank you can use virtual carbon intensity (CO2e tonnes declared in the product on a mass balanced basis) from the purchase of Zeremis Carbon Lite. You will need to calculate the tonnes of CO2e saved based on your stated starting position. The difference gives the tonnes for your carbon bank.
The CO2e tonnes reduced from the yield losses should remain connected to the product. For example: from 10 tonnes bought there is 1 tonne lost in processing yield losses. The CO2e tonnes reduced and stated on the declaration should be balanced across the remaining 9 tonnes to retain the connection to the product for the onward selling. This way you will be able to continue to pass on the reduction and charge for it.
